This chuck key is designed to rotate freely until the ideal handle position is found. It can rotate ccw and lock cw for closing the chuck. Pushed down it will rotate cw and lock ccw for opening the chuck.

The most popular method for quickly moving the jaws is using a cordless drill with a square end piece in the chuck. It allows the scroll to spin when the jaws are removed and give it a blast with the airline using your other hand.
