    Don't Measure!

One category of homemade tools are ones that just get the job done. They aren't pretty yet are worth making even if only used for an afternoon. Here is a pair of tools I threw together in order to drill about 100 holes.

Many tools are derived via eye on the result;I need a bar with 100 holes, so gather my tape, square, felt pen, bit, drill...and get at it.

The wire locator and drill plate is very good, quick and step savers. Some might be tempted to use a quick clamp for the plate, but that's more about dexterity and working positions, etc.
It's often more efficient to consider the available processes first, and envision the potential steps.

    Frank S's Tools
Huck-a-bin tools have been a favorite of mine for as long as I have been making things.
Take a few seconds to make a simple tool which becomes reasonably accurate instrument of measure with a high degree of repeat-ability to perform a task which ordinarily would require the use of possibly several tools in it's stead which may even require enlisting a 2nd person to accomplish the same results has always been my preference. Besides when the job is finished I don't have an arm load of tools to put away I can simply toss it in the rubbish bin if I don't foresee ever using it again.
Never try to tell me it can't be done
When I have to paint I use KBS products
