    Good job.
Like you said you could buy one, but I don’t think any you get these days would be as strong as what you’ve built.
    Cheers.

Nice work on that tool box. I was just over at Horror Freight looking at tool boxes and left not liking what I saw. What is cool with your approach is that draws can be designed to specifically meet your needs. Now all you need ot do is to fill it up with tools.

I sometimes get that make/buy comment. Why go to a nice restaurant for a meal when you can pay someone to go for you?

I appreciate that you shared the missteps too. I don't learn that much from watching everything go smoothly.

Your toolbox should outlast the human race. Well done!

I've come to feel sorry for the people who present that old make/buy argument. The enduring satisfaction of creation is a rich and fulfilling experience, and they're missing out on it.

On the other hand, they have mastered the “buy it now” button.

Even more so when the ingenuity of the creation is much more impressive than the creation itself.

Yes, many of the tools people build here are of course useful (they're tools, after all), but there is a hidden element of a homemade tool as a sort of Proof of Ingenuity, like a solved puzzle. And the intellectual satisfaction of that proof sometimes provides greater value than the utility of the tool itself.
