    Diy car lift plans

Hello! Anyone that has built one of those portable car scissor lifts that could give me some plans/measurements?

There are a lot of homemade car lifts out there. Some are marginally good and some are not. It would be far better, safer, and most likely less expensive to just buy from a reputable manufacturer than to build one.

I seem to remember a few years back someone made a lift similar to what you may be wanting that was posted either here or on another forums. I built commercial 2 post 4 post lifts, freight lefts an elevators including heavy duty parallelogram and scissors lifts for nearly 30 years but never built or bothered to design a light duty or portable type lift, out of safety and possible legal concerns I agree ductape
Never try to tell me it can't be done

I'm confident i can make it safe and durable. It would never lift at max height anyways, and a locking mechanism would be added for sure. I have found a good one on here, but the link takes me to another forum where i'm still waiting to be accepted, so i can see the post and plans.
I was wondering if anyone had any ideas for one. I have a small workshop and doing work in my free time, so i can't justify spending $3k+ on a commercial one just yet!
