    Wizard,
    It's MR MDF (Moisture Resistant MDF). A bit denser than std MDF, and highly moisture resistant. The green colour is added to the adhesive just to make it obvious that it is MR. Used extensively in 'wet area' situations in Aus, NZ and SE Asia, along with HMR Particle Board. Usually as a substrate for HPL and LPL laminates, veneers and painted finishes. One downside is that it still has ALL of the structural negatives of standard MDF...and, no, it is not waterproof or designed to be used externally...Cheers
