Never seem to have enough rod connections of the right configuration for all of my
types of indicators and DTI's. Made some universal swivels from T6061 aluminum,
half inch cold rolled and 8-32 all thread.
There are 8 separate rod connectors shown. Four 1/4", two 5/16", and two 3/8".
With the 8 knobs and 4 all thread sections I can make up various connectors
for the same or different rod sizes.
The connectors are 1/2" square aluminum with holes for the threaded rod and
the indicator rod. Each one was sliced on the mill with a slitting saw and the
very end of some were further cut with a hack saw to reduce the force
required to flex the joint.
Also shown are some short rod sections that can also be used to interchange
certain swivels to other swivels.
Not shown are various sleeves that enlarge the rods to the next size up.
Even with all that I am sure I will find a combination that I will have to
make up an adapter for in order to set them up. But that is perfectly normal.
Cheers, JR
