    Cyclone Vacuum Dust Separator

I made one with 0.8mm thick steel sheet and an aluminium pan which I used to use on family BBQ twenty some years ago.

First I made some tack welding to keep the cone.

Then gave this cone butt welding.

    Welding upper wall.

Top cover was also made from 0.8mm steel sheet.

Vacuum pipe and suction pipe are made from the same steel sheet too. But I was not very sure if this length of the vacuum pipe works well for my purpose, separating tree leaves and bamboo leaves. Mostly they are a tad bigger than the dust we usually deal with.

The top lid of the aluminium pan got a round cut, and I put some silicone rubber for sealing.

    Epoxy added to the joint.

A test run told me that I should better give it some alteration.

So I made a cut to the inner pipe or vacuum pipe to make it short, and added another bigger round separator wall around it.

    Now it works better!

Joining two cones ain't something for those faint-hearted, but "Elliptic Curve Handbook" might be something you're looking for:

Q: -Do you know in what state of illness Kepler was, when he first described his three laws of planetary movements?

A: -Well, he suffered from an elliptic seizure, of course... (Rimshot)

It works as it should, and every wood working shop should have one. Their are published design guide lines for building these, depending on your application and the particulate you are trying to convey. Nice job!

    Sorry for being late here,
that part is not very easy to me too, wanted to joint them with ox-athetilane torch welding but finish was no good, lol.
see pic #9 where i used epoxy to fill up gaps.
    Thank you.
