    I used to do this sort of work driving in and out of Felixstowe, UK.
    Even though the pins are in the open position, they still get caught and can lift the trailer.

    More's the reason for having drop down locks they are spring loaded and any jostling once they are released should cause them to retract but a good rap with a hammer is never a bad idea before the container is raised or raise it a few inches and set it back down then lift it off the trailer. I've seen crane operators have to bounce a container a few times make them come loose
