3 years ago when I bought my Diesel F250 it had one issue I didn't like, namely a lack of IMO suitable safe way to tow a trailer of much size.
the factory bumper had already had some thickening support added to it because someone had overloaded the capacity. of the bumper.
The ball was too high off the ground for many trailers and the bumper was poorly mounted to the frame VIA small mounting braces. It hadn't bothered me too much as I haven't needed to tow any trailer of any consequence.
I may be needing to tow a heavier trailer than I was comfortable pulling with the current bumper hitch, so I decided to make use of a heavy duty receiver hitch I recently bought that came off of a 2017 F350 super duty dually
