In this experiment we learn to copper plate nickel surfaces. The anode is copper tubes and as cathode we place some nickel coins . We put hydrochloric acid in distilled water. We use a 8-12 v dc supply and current 1-3 A. The place must be well ventilated cause of the hydrogen that comes from the water and is flammable if there is a spark or flame near the device. The secret is to move the cathode from time to time and clean the items we have to plate every 5-8 minutes . We get them out of the water ,clean them from the rust ( a kind of metal oxide or some kind of salt) with a sponge with pure gasoline and put them again in the water. We do this about 5-6 times. The final effect is very good. These instructions come only from personal experiance .
