    What's more impressive than the making of the engines from start to finish is the machines to make them Every machine dedicated to a single process of every different part . Some parts taking several machines to complete them and multiple spindles on nearly all of them

    If cars were made that way today they'd cost 5x as much. An old plant manager I used to work for used to say "My ideal plant has one worker and one dog. The purpose of the dog is to bite the worker if he tries to touch anything." I think we're a long way away from that, but the automation has been impressive.
