I don't know that using wire rope will last long, as he used rope that has a counter clockwise twist of the individual strands, and he's driving it with a drill clockwise, which will untwist the cable.
I didn't understand why he welded on a threaded stub, vs just threading the piece he had.
I guess it's easy to pick apart someone else's build.
