That may very well too wet, but a vibrator will make even very low slump concrete flow like water. There are also plasticizers and other admixtures to mix into concrete just prior to placing that will allow it to flow better, or set slower, or set faster, or be more freeze/thaw resistant, etc
Good concrete is not just gravel, sand, cement and water anymore. I am not an expert by any means, but if you are doing a job using concrete, you can find the information you need to get a really good SAFE result.
Very true, watched the building opposite going up, test moulds every pour, vibrator was essential to exclude air pockets. Shame they didn't get it right in my work building, slump testing occasionally, biggest was when they took the first section of form work off the in-situ cast main stairs after a week, slumped completely! They left the rest for 3 months before they dared remove the forms...
