    Hi Gang:

    An interesting thing to note is these plates are either Right or Left Handed. With the lower hinge toward you the upper hinge can either be on the right or left side. This double sine plate the upper hinge is on the left. When you are designing gages it makes a difference.

    Setting a compound sine plate from the two views usually offered in the drawing is a tricky process and requires some trigonometric calculations. The page here...
