Cool how the flame goes right down the conveyer path. I suspect it was mostly dust that blew up.

What are the chances that a video photographer would have that perfectly framed in his camera at the instant of explosion unless it was a planned demolition and not an accident? Motion prior to the explosion indicates it was hand-held. The yard looks in disarray as if during dismantling and the building n the foreground is stripped with cranes overhead..

It is a video someone took of a screen playing security camera footage, not the original recording.

Another interesting thing is that nobody on the ground seems terribly fazed by the explosion. So, I don't think it was terribly unexpected. Maybe, it's a semi-regular occurrence? Maybe, it was demo. I can't tell by the obvious con/destruction work going on, but they may have been adding onto the plant and/or demolishing (or trying to demolish, since it seems little worse for the wear after the explosion) part of it. But I don't think this is a shot of a security monitor. It appears to be just somebody looking over the construction site.

I presume bob_3000 is concluding that from the frame one sees at the left in the initial stages of the video. That does not appear to me to be a view of a video display screen. It looks like a view out of a window. Note that there is blue sky and a glimpse of the continuation of the building in the foreground to the left of the frame seen at the left for a short time. Also, videos of video displays normally show anomalies due to slight lack of perfect synchronization between a line-powered display and a battery-powered recording camera. We see none.

Well, I have to yield to fluffle-valve's documentation that it was, in fact, an accident. But I'm still mystified that someone was positioned with perfect timing to videotape the event. Not even having to whirl around to capture the event while taping the general area, but perfectly framed before it started. What luck for a cameraman.

I too thought it was a planned explosion at first and hence the reason I did a little research. But, I guess, some people just get lucky with the video camera.

Looks like they need to update their cleaning PMs to more frequent cleaning. I thought they misted those areas to prevent the dust?
