Earlier this week, our bottom-of-the-line clothes dryer died. Given the poor condition of the inside, my wife and I agreed it was not worth my time to fix. We bought another bottom-of-the-line dryer, and it was delivered the next day.
All was fine until we discovered the new dryer had fewer features than our old unit. The light inside the drum will be missed, but a flashlight is a reasonable compromise. However, an audible alarm when the dryer shuts off is essential. It's time to modify the drying and get back this feature. I used analog circuit design techniques and only needed a few parts.
