Dunno what sort of sorcery is used in this clip, but I cleaned many a pool in the mid seventies. Come late Spring, we would clear out all of the frogs, mice, and squirrels that took a swim over the winter, overlaid with leaves and crap. Nothing at all like this. Good times.
This looks like there was some sort of event that happened in the area like a dust storm or ash from a volcanic eruption. The water is relatively clear so it was likely in good shape before that. He must have used a pool flocculent to get the contaminant to drop so he could sweep it up. It works great if you have the patience! I'm getting ready to open our pool and after I get in (usually about 55 - 60 F) and scrub the liner, I'll floc the pool and leave the pump off, then wait a few days and sweep it all up. Algicide and a good shock and it will be ready to swim!
