This is my simple stand for the circular saw, that turns it to the chop saw.
I used cheap 110mm = 4 " 9 ( 29 € ) circular saw.
I wanted to cut metals with it, ones with the thin wall.
For that reason i used 125mm = 5 " diamond angle grinder blade instead of teethed blade.
Teethed blade is maybe little faster, but when material is thin ( 2mm or less ) it tends to rip edges, very thin material may also bend.
To be able to use bigger blade i removed the lower guard from the saw.
I know one might think that its very dangerous now, but actually it still has somewhat similar guard than angle grinder has.
So, if i don't mess around, its perfectly safe.
Hinge is made from the bigger weldable hinge, i shared one part from it to two.
Cost for the hinge ( including axle and washers ) was 8€
I weld a washer to the end of the axle, and sanded weld to the surface level.
Axle is weld to second cylinder piece from the outer end. Then only one cylinder part is moving.
Frame is made from 20 mm x 20 mm x 3 mm angle iron.
