The last bit of material when the pour is done is swung over to a clean out area, then a rubber pig is inserted into the line and water pushed up the line behind the pig to squeegee the cement out of the pipes.
Some operators pump a bentonite clay slurry through the pipes before the pour to line the pipes and reduce wear. This coating also assists with cleanout.
