This 1954 Chevrolet 3800 truck, built by sfeldma on StoveBolt.com, is similar to many old Chevy trucks, with the exception of the Jaguar suspension.
The front and rear axles were pulled out of the Jaguar. Then the stock axles were pulled from a 1/2-ton truck and grafted to the Jaguar axles. The 235 from the original truck was rebuilt, and mated to an adapted T5 5-speed from an S-10 pickup.
An old short bed and fenders from a '54 Chevy truck were added in.
This type of build is attractive to a lot of builders. It's got an old look, but it's not a rat rod by any means. It runs well and drives nicely, and it wasn't expensive to build. There's no fancy paint job, and no plans to paint the truck. Says the builder: "it cleaned up nicely using CLR and green scotch brite pad."
