    Cheers from Steve in Niagara

    Hi all
Just a quick intro from me ... I'm semi retired and getting back into woodworking for the pleasure of it, after an absence of a few decades (where has all that time gone?) I learned how to make do and mend and innovate gadgets and such, from my father who was a dab hand at it. I hope to learn more from this forum and you fellows and gals ... so Cheers from Niagara (Canadian side that is haha!)

    Hi Steve,

    Welcome!

Time really does slip away, doesn't it? Glad to hear that you're back at the woodworking, though. What's next on your project list?

    Ken

Well thanks for the welcome gents! Today I've been converting a stock (read cheap) router table to sit next to my table saw so both tables sit at the same height and extend each other.

I removed the plastic legs from the melamine table and made a wooden frame that fastened to my main work bench by carriage bolts so that the router table is flush with it and the saw. At the same time I wanted the whole thing to pivot 90 degrees so I can access the router lock from above instead of reaching below and behind which at my age is getting pretty hard!! I used a couple of heavy 4 inch T-Hinges to fasten the table to the frame and that seems pretty solid so hopefully it all works out as planned!

In the near future I'm going to construct a belt sander. As I have already made an 8 inch disk sander I'll see if I can incorporate the two together. Cheers again!
