hello! i'm charsand:and i'm glad to become a member. i live in northern mi. about 160 miles south of the mackinaw bridge. i enjoy metal working, woodworking,restoring antique machines, such as shopsmiths, small metal lathes, and old discarded pieces of this and that! i do occasional volunteer work at st. vincents de paul here in east tawas. this produces a lot of item's sometimes. i retired from chevrolet V8 engine flint mi. in 1998 after thirty years of service, as a salvage mechanic and as a final inspector. i have two son's, six grandchildren, two great children and only one of the bunch, enjoy's my hobbies. i also belong to a shopsmith forum, that's run by skip campbell, and a metal lathe forum called 9x20. almost forgot to mention the instructables forum as well! i enjoy talking with people, as we don't get much company up here during the winter. the widlife and my wife of fifty year's is about all untill summer, then it's a different story up here.
