    I like the part where you put the sharp end of the screwdriver against the meaty bit of your hand and then press the handle against the pulley. Nothing could possibly go wrong with that.

    Tried that after seeing the vid a long time ago.
    I broke the belt.
    I have a 1972 Land Rover Series III Truck Cab/Pick-Up and a 1962 Land Rover Series 2a Carawagon Camper.

    That belt was way too loose. It would not come off the easy it is was adjusted correctly.

    I did start my VW a couple of time when the starter was bad, using a socket and ratchet in the alternator nut.

    Miss that old bug!!

    I have seen my Dad do that many times in years gone by I've also seen him use spray Ether starting fluid to seal a tire against the rim.
