    Champer cutter arbor

I recently bought a small box of these 37° champer cutters, though there were no arbors to mount them in.
Today I needed to form a champer for a -6 SAE oring boss fitting.
Here is what I made the arbor out of
U took a 1/2" socket head bolt then turned the head then drilled and tapped to accept the cutter then cut the threads off the bolt.
These bolts are hardened and usually grade 9 just about as close to being tool steel as you can get

yup, that's why I never use it. I have heard the results from my 90 year old Chinese mother-in-law trying to use it - painful... and completely unsuccessful...

I worked for the large American aircraft company on the Pacific Northwest for many years. Don’t know if you knew or was interested but thought I would show you what these countersinks were made to work with. If you already know - sorry. I have maybe a couple dozen or more of these countersink cutters all had been reground before I got them some in 22.5° some in 37°, 45° and 1 in 65° at least 6 different diameters and 4 different thread sizes.
I had not seen those micro stop holders but apparently that company only offers a limited selection of tooling specific for their target market.
    Thanks for the info though.
I used to own a wide selection of cavity forming tools ranging from SAE #2 through SAE#32 single cavities for o ring boss fittings or poppets, through 5 stage cavities for poppet and spool type cartridge valves Not every configuration obviously, and our tooling grinding department often would make our own for us.
