Wouldn't that be carving a chain out of a pencil lead or carving a pencil lead into a chain? Just asking

That depends upon your perspective. The maker carved into the pencil lead so as to make the chain. You could also say that the chain was made out of the pencil lead by carving.Originally Posted by Frank S
