I have been welder 23 years now... And i must say that i really wonder. Why so much holes & threads on welding table? Dust, sparks, splatters.. it doesn't take long when all those holes and threads are unusable. Seems to me that people is focusing too much for all kinds of clamps, tricks and jigs, instead of simple basics of metal working..

The threads for the set screws are incidental since the frame didn't turn out as flat as I would of liked. Would have liked to avoid them but without a large surface grinder to make everything flat they were necessary. Spatter getting in those threads is not a problem since I won't need to touch them again. With the holes I replicated the BuildPro table design. I actually find the large number of holes handy as there is always a hole nearby I can use to clamp a piece etc. As I'm not a professional welder the holes becoming clogged is not really a problem for me and anti spatter spray has worked well so far at keeping everything clean.
