In this video I build a Continuous Variable Transmission (CTV) or Reeves Drive mechanism for the lathe. This is a mechanical speed control using special pulleys that can be physically adjusted allowing the pulleys to change ratio.

I've been looking for a CVT for my lathe and for my drill press, but haven't found one that would easily retrofit. Making them from scratch seemed impractical. I now see that I was wrong in that.
