Build Your Own Dinghy after watching this series of videos. The series includes 26 videos averaging about 5 minutes each. This was done so you wouldn't have to sit through 2-1/2 hours of video - you can just watch the segments as you have time. In addition, the parts are broken up into the various steps of simple skiff construction.
Part 1 of 26 in the series "Build Your Own Dinghy" provides the introduction to this series of 26 video clips, combined with the first step in building the boat (making the stem). The next segment (Part 2) shows you how to make the Main Frame.
This series of videos will show the process of what's involved with building a small skiff in the backyard, using simple plywood construction techniques. The dinghy is one of my own designs from my "Frugal Skiff" series that you can learn more about from my other web site: Shoestring Shipyard | Boatbuilding Plans and Books for the Backyard Boat Builder
This series of videos are not intended to a tutorial, although most experienced wood workers could probably figure out what to do after watching this boat being built.
I built and donated this dinghy to the Women's Health Resource Library ( http://whrl.org ) in Milbridge, Maine for their annual fund raising auction held during the "Milbrdge Days" celebration at the end of July 2017. The dinghy was a big hit and successfully brought in a lot of money to help fund many of the great programs the WHRL sponsors in our community.
