I was relieved at the end; when means to adjust proper level became evident.
Most any clean, generally level surface can be used to trim a level in. Mark an area with tape, or fence of some manner to repeat placement as progressing along. Then turn subject level around end for end to verify. Any deviation must read the same, regardless orientation.
Same method purchasing a level. Perch selected level on 2 as similar blocks possible right on the stores floor, and read. Reverse as described above.
