    He is being safe though. Notice he stands behind the machine. If you watch the dust, the wind seems to blow it away.

    Something as simple as a water mist would be of enormous help in controlling the dust! Thankful for some OSHA regs!

    Stripping old bonded linings off to recycle the metal? or to bond on new linings? I spent many school summer holidays working in a relining shop, at least the big commercial shoe's were still riveted then, though most car shoes were bonded by then so simply scrapped, we even had woven asbestos brake banding for relining crane brakes and similar, masks were unheard of...

    I worked at an auto salvage yard in the late 60's -early 70's, We used to collect shoes and pads, toss them in a barrel and sell them by the pound to a relining place. Mask, whats that? we seldom even used goggles flame cutting parts off.

    I know it was stupid, but you know how kids are indestructible!!
