Agree! You'll need to save your breath for changing your underwear.

    Bear was simply curious.
Nice parental instinct of the father back away before his son is out of harm's way! The boy stopped walking several time but the father just kept moving anyway. <Thumbs down to him>

That old joke about not needing to outrun the bear as long as you can outrun your friend is actually a useful bit of insight, but if your Dad isn't man enough to get between you and the bear so you can get away safely, you need to grow up fast and get the hell out of his house.

Put the damn camera down and go help your son, maggot! Are we really this desperate to be famous that we'd rather document a child within seconds of getting mauled by a bear than do something to help him get to safety? You walk past the boy so you're between him and the bear. You don't whip out your phone like some TikTok fanatic.

I can plainly see that the commenters are very experienced at criticizing a situation they know nothing about. I’m quit sure any move by the father in the bears direction would be viewed as aggressive and challenging by the bear initiating an attack. Simple eye contact with a bear is a challenge to the bear so I’m confident the camera operator did right. If you’ve ever been in close contact you’d know it’s a delicate situation that can go bad faster than you can get a shot off. So there’s my experienced opinion

And what makes you think the camera operator walked past the boy? I missed that
