Now to complete the project they just need a 2 7/8 pipe weld as pair of spindles in the ends key one of them with a 1/4" square key add a 100 tooth 3/4" face worm gear a 2 inch diameter single tooth worm on a 3/4" shaft attach a 10" diameter pulley add a 1/2Hp motor with a 2" diameter pulley for the drive mechanism cut 2 holes through the pipe 8 or 10 feet apart Hang the pipe and drive in the center of the end beams can use oak for bearings, With a 5000 lb boat the oak bearings if greased a couple times a year will last for 10 years or more , attach 4 snatch blocks to the side beams directly across from the holes thread cables through the holes and over the snatch blocks then down to terminate on the ends of a pair of 8 to 10 inch wide straps lower them into the water and drive the bot through the straps lift the boat out of the water and he's done except from the looks of it he may have to excavate a channel to the lake
