Nothing much else could be done for a boat that far gone except hope it stayed afloat long enough to reach deep water

certainly would not want to be the owner of those nearby vessels. really don't have to mention the owner of the fire except hope no one on board & there is insurance.

You never know it may have been insurance that started the fire.

Insurance has wax matches to boot. very en light ening!

Ins Cos often find reasons (their definitions) to avoid payout. "It was not flood: it was rising water" was one used here & "it wasn't storm & tempest; it was flood" depending the coverage of the item/home insured.

Yes; outstanding ability of insurance to create mysterious conflagrations. Especially when fires occur within 'covered' structures so regularly.

One used here is, damage caused "not by storm" but "act of god".

Don't get me started. . .insurance likely most finely honed conspiracy on our fair planet. Another field operating under guise of service, fueled by lawyers and lobbyists.
Shakespeare was (and still) right. re: Dick the Butcher, Henry VI, Part 2.

Yep & they have had hundreds of years to hone the laws and beguile us with the "NEED" to have it , even vets involved the world over.
I think that one worse is fracking. They steal the water from our land; raping the integrity of our land; destroying farmers; and our food supply but interestingly while we are debating climate change v seasonal change v ...etc, here, there is nothing that the media has stroked about fracking & our PM is holidaying over your way while our country in burning & our economy is in turmoil. Our media is owned by big business and our govt has been dismantling the ABC which is our only really impartial perspective. As Dickens would say Hard times in a Bleak house loosing our Great Expectations.

Ok, I will zip it now.
