I am tinkerer/builder from way back. I really enjoy the ideas presented here. I dabble in woodcraft, metal working, and electronics, among other things. I am located in Long Beach, CA where it seems that hands-on DIYer's are a scarce breed.

Sorry to hear that things are looking so grim in SoCal these days; it seemed better when I lived out there, but that's been (ack!) 25+ years. When did that happen?!?
