    When looking at everyday things, I often envision how it could have been made as, I'm sure, a majority of HMT viewers also do As simple looking as the finished product is, this one caught me by surprise!

    I anticipated neither the tool nor would I, after seeing the tool, have given it more than a moderate chance of succeeding in its function.

    This is a low quantity die aka 'single stage die', maybe special order material or size.
    Higher rates would punch successive features as stock travels through a 'progressive die'; fed by a roll of stock. The first might take five hits, after that a new part in every stroke.
