    Benchtop Power supply

    Yes, I know,
yet another bench top power supply, made from a refurbished PC power supply...

    So here is mine :

I just recall the principle :
    - gather all the same voltage / same color wires, distribute them across several banana sockets if you prefer
    - put the ATX "PS-ON" (sometimes Gray or green) wire to ground in order to start it up
    - Ideally, if you want more stability, put a permanent load : A 5W 5V resistor on the 5V output, will draw 1A permanently.
    - If you wish : add a power on LED ex : ~300 ohm in serial with a Red LED wired on 5V output.

The performances are quite impressive :
for this 400W power supply, it can deliver :
    5V : 35 A
    12V : 15 A
    3.3V : 22A
less impressive but still useful to have :
    -5V : 0.5 A
    -12V : 0.8 V

But, it's such a great solution for when you need low voltage DC with high amperage! I use one to power my LED strips. ...because I like to play with 50 ft of neopixels at a time.

You did a great job designing yours.. and providing documentation for others to follow. I think people are going to find this really helpful .

I don't get the final picture.. you have DMM included, but it's turned off. You have a light plugged in and turned off. It's like you wanted to demonstrate it, but changed your mind.

    Hi ,
    thanks for your message !
No the last picture was just the only one I had kept with the box closed and LED turned on.
Actually, I was setting up my last project which is the wildelife camera on the left, but the photo was just to show the power supply.
I should have cropped it ;o)
