They used to have one of those in the F & R Lazarus parking garage in down town Columbus, OH when I was a kid. The only one I ever saw. It was a valet type of garage, where they park your car and bring it back to you. They used the man lift belt to get up and down between the floors. F & R sold out to Macy's.
Oh how my dad hated that garage. You could always hear the squealing tires echo through the building as they raced the cars around the upper floors of the garage.
Wow, I just searched for F & R Lazarus. Did you know there is an online department store museum? The Department Store Museum: F. & R. Lazarus & Co.
