Viewers take note. The wire is drawn from a spool; the first station is a straightener. The transverse wheels are typically arranged in odd numbers, usually the minimum is 5. Most are positioned by eccentrics within wheel hubs, others use a screw to adjust a slide of the wheel mount. There is drag tension on the spool so it won't birdcage, these devices are used on many sizes and variety of wire, including electronics.
If you were to reuse electrical wire; it could be stored easily, once run through such a straightener and re-spooled. Conveyor wheels are very inexpensive source.
