    Battery Design

Having spent 14 years in battery research and design I thought I should share what I know. However, there are no dedicated places for battery design and so I thought how hard can it be??? I have the model making website and I can just create a battery design website.

It's early days, but I'm hoping this will develop over the next few months into a useful resource.

    BatteryDesign.net

I know that everybody on here has the ability to literally make anything and hence thought this might be a great resource for you all.

Even a page on the steps in the cell manufacturing process:

Thanks, there seems to be little practical, factual info on batteries, yet we can't live without them. I have many questions about the relative benefits and disadvantages of all the various common types of batteries and if your website can provide an accurate and reliable source of knowledge it should receive a lot of traffic. Please don't make it too commercial.

Hopefully, it'll include rebuilding of power tool cells; meter testing, shock treatment, spotwelding, custom battery packs, cycle & charge banks....... This could range from alkaline, lead acid, gels, NiCad, Lithium

We are adding references to the pages so that you can see sources and read further into the subject. Gradually we will add pages on pros and cons of different chemistry, formats etc. Some of this takes time as we develop articles, find people who can write on certain subjects etc. We will try not to make it too commercial - feedback and comments are great. Thanks, Nigel

Yes, the aim is to cover everything from the single cell to multiple cells and all other applications. At the moment we are concentrating on rechargeable cells, but we will cover primary cells as well in time. If there are specific topics you want to see covered then please do let me know, cannot guarantee, but we will try and develop posts to address them. Thanks for the interest, Nigel

I've started 'tooling up' a battery work center a bit now, anticipating information coming down the pike, while learning about what I need to learn.
There is little but anecdotal so far, and considerable not professionally presented.
    That out-of-balance doesn't initiate confidence.

We're starting from the introduction of a subject and then building on it. This takes time and maybe we were early promoting it. Hopefully this will grow to something that is useful to you over time. Best regards, Nigel
