    Basic Saw Clamp Extension

Nothing earth shattering here, but might help a new person.

Use a piece of material as a clamp extension so you can cut that last little bit off the expensive POM rod.

Note: Only use a short piece as a spacer, if you go full length you might be holding the spacer tightly but not the piece you're cutting.

Also shows Silicon Valley Snow, POM shavings.

Pardon my ignorance, what is POM?
And I’ll gladly have some of that cold stuff. It’s over 40deg C here.

Polyoxymethylene (POM), also known as acetal,[2] polyacetal, and polyformaldehyde, is an engineering thermoplastic used in precision parts requiring high stiffness, low friction, and excellent dimensional stability. As with many other synthetic polymers, it is produced by different chemical firms with slightly different formulas and sold variously by such names as Delrin, Ultraform, Celcon, Ramtal, Duracon, Kepital, Polypenco, and Hostaform.

Shipped off that order to the customer today. 250 POM feet for his patent prototype and 8 feet of 1" x 1" rod for him to use on other bits.

Next up is 150 aluminum brackets. Need to be 39.7 degree wedges with the large end radiused to fit inside his round...whatever it is. I'll say UFO since that makes it sound more interesting. Then add 3 holes.

I'll probably post pictures of the fixture made from scrap to make the radius on the end. It's based on the "what's laying around that I can use" method of design. But, first I need to cut a bunch of aluminum wedges and then do the little machining to make the fixture.
