Just wonderful, not only do we have cars driving themselves package delivery companies are experimenting with drones to deliver their packages the military has drones to bomb things, A certain billionaire is deploying satellites by the hundreds, Factories have robots that can almost self-replicate themselves, and now they are wanting to pollute the shipping lanes of the ocean with crewless ships. can you say SKYNET the rise of the machines is coming folks be ready.

Oh, Frank! Don't worry. None of that is real. We're living in the Matrix, and all that stuff is just streamed to us to keep us "entertained" and productive in our pods.

Nowhere near Skynet, but still it is interesting. Autonomous or not there are shipping collisions that are totally due to negligence. Remember the Italian cruise ship that crashed into the shore because two on the bridge were in the midst of copulating? No accounting for the surplus of ineptitude with artificial intelligence. The real stuff is already rare as hens teeth!
