WAG here, but the little paddle on one leg is doing most the work. I think vibration in the housing causes the unit to skate in the pan. The wire legs may cause a little agitation too.
Speaking of which, dime store whisks [aka whip]. If you select one, a simple glance will sort out those properly made, typically European.
Cheap whisks bind the wires at the same loop length. Correct form pose wires at varied positions, about half the distance each adjacent loop. 9 loops appear common.
