    He's probably got those great US made knee pads . They cost well over Au$100 but mine lasted about 15 years, doing gardening & handy man jobs daily. The cheapies are usually made from hard plastic that doesn't form to become "part of the knees".

    Mine were gel pads . I think they were called "Nailers":cool name. Mostly used by flooring guys bur EXCELLENT on gravel/stones & the like. I doubt that carpet layers could use with stretchers. They were held in place by a very sound velvro stretchy system!
