    Yep looks like there has been a problem there before. Probably because the cord is laying unprotected on the corner of the machine and vibrations rubbed it in two.
    You would think they would have taken steps to prevent it happening again, but nooooo, just but splice it back together and worry about repairing correctly the next time.
