This is a tool for the Grumman Tiger single engine 4 seat plane. Made by Grumman in 1978 and later it is one neat private plane.
The articulating Ipad mounts being sold all seem to use a suction cup to hold the articulating arm to the windshield or other smooth surface in the plane. Not the best idea to put your expensive flight accessory at risk to a suction cup! (yes it will fall off when you are flying over the Grand Canyon!.
Ok, very simple. Made from 1/4" aluminum plate in 2 pieces. The vertical member has one slotted hole to make sure it would line up with existing canopy screws. (two of them). The plate for mounting the articulating Ipad arm has a similar arrangement for the base of the arm.
Mostly drilling with a little milling with some paint for finish.
The first file has all the dimensions and is loaded with holes to be drilled out for lightening which can be used for a template after the mounting holes are drilled. The second file (b) is simplified for layout purposes.
Cheers, JR
