    ADJUSTABLE VISE HOLDER!

Whoever uses the vise daily, will better understand the usefulness of this device. When attaching a piece to the vise end, an uneven clamping of the jaws usually occurs. This is because there are clearances in the vise, especially when they are very old. This device corrects this problem, providing an even tightening of the jaws and ensuring better fixation of the part. Simple to do, practical and very useful!

I believe that the function of a vise stop would be to control the position of a piece, or to control the length for cutting a piece. This project that I executed, has the function of distributing the force evenly in the jaws, without creating torsion in them, which usually occurs when there are clearances. This prevents the part from coming loose during machining. I use it for this purpose, thank you!

Kind of like the trick many of us do with the little 4 x 6 bandsaw vises. In my case, I pirated an old valve spring compressor for the parts.

tmate3, thanks for your comment on this thread! In this project that I presented, it would not be necessary to pierce the jaw, as in the photos you attached. You also wouldn't need a wrench to tighten the nuts, but your alternative is also interesting! Finally, it's easy to do and you don't have to disassemble the jaw to drill and weld. Its alternative would be more applicable for jaws made with angle bars, but someone could prefer my idea, due to its simplicity. Thank you again!

The only improvement I could suggest would be to knurl the round piece, otherwise I like it!

It's a good idea, and most easier to use than the level screw part used for milling I normally used for that purpose(sorry, I dont know the name in english for that tool…).

Wildwilly, thanks for the comments! I didn't do it because I don't have a knurling tool.
