When I needed to make a chain guard for a machine I was working on I found a piece of 10" "C" purlin that looked like it would be perfect for the job only I wanted the form the ends of it to a rounded shape. My solution was to cut a pair of 3/4" thick steel disks then bolt them together with all thread and nuts I welded the all thread to 1 of the disks then attached the other one this made an adjustable anvil by which I could shape the flanges of the "C" purlin around
This is the machine which needed the guard
As it looked after installed
