I have Real Bull mini lathe to which I have fitted a 4" spindle and chuck. I have the tapered bearings, have not fitted them as yet I am still learning to use my lathe properly so will continue to use the fitted ones for the time being. I also want to get a 4 jaw, 5" chuck. I like the modifications you have done and also what you are doing with your engine I will keep following with interest.

If I were buying a new mini lathe today, I think my choice would be the Real Bull lathe. The machines look very accurate with clean lines and nice extra features. I will be publishing more on the steam engine. Thank you for the information about your lathe.

    Paul,
Thanks for the comments. Yes I like the Real Bull 7 x 14 for me learning it is fine. I have a 4" 3 jaw, ER32 collet chuck with a full set of metric collets, I also use a tangential tool holder which I find great. The taper roller bearings I will fit in the not too distance future time permitting.
All the best for Christmas & New Year, hope Santa is kind to you.
