    920N Jet Lathe Tailstock Wrench

I've had my Jet 9 x 14 for almost twenty years.

I finally got smart a few years ago and cut down a ratchet wrench to make tightening and loosening the tailstock bolt much easier.

You will notice this wrench has a lever to change from lefty loosey to righty tighty. That is key to making this work.

When I cut this down I wrapped the wrench with electrical tape. I will pull it off and redo it with shrink tubing when I get a chance.

I did the same to mine when I got it(enco 9x20) I also added a spring under the tail stock to push away the clamp when not clamped so it dont drag, also the under side is usualy full of bondo that needs to be cleaned out for free movement end to end. among oh so many things that these need. I dont think i cut my rench... thought about making one for a carrage lock.or a knob...I need to put brass gibs under for better slide& tighter carriage fit. Im thinking about tapered gibs for the cross slide....among other things,.
