5 x 180 Sander

This is my Metric version of a 2 x 72 inch sander
I have only just started the build
Main tubes are 50 x 5 mm Square and the inner sliding tubes are 40 x 4 mm machined down to be straight and sguare to fit inside the 50 mm
It is suprising how NOT flat the sides of the tub but a quick cleanup in the mill and all is good.

The plattern plate was cut on my CNC Plasma cutter from 2 pieces of 6.0 mm welded together for a 12 mm thick plate, this was from my scrap bin.
Maybe a bit over the top but I like things to be solid.

The drive motor will be a Tread mill 240 volt DC unit I have from the scrap bin with a home made speed controller I buitl a while ago.
